The Freedom Programme examines the roles played by attitudes and beliefs on the actions of abusive men and the responses of victims and survivors. The aim is to help them to make sense of and understand what has happened to them, instead of the whole experience just feeling like a horrible mess.

Action On Elder Abuse Charity that aims to prevent abuse in old age.


Rights Of Women Rights of Women is committed to informing, educating and empowering women on the law and their legal rights. They run a free telephone legal advice line for women including a sexual violence legal advice line. They produce publications - including ones on domestic violence and the law, child contact, and for those who have experienced rape or sexual assault. 'From Report to Court' can be downloaded free from the website and is available in a number of languages.

Supportline Offer confidential emotional support to children, young adults and adults by telephone, email and post.


AADFA Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse. Charity offering help to families after fatal domestic abuse (homicide or suicide) and near misses.


One Space Parenting site for single parents. Online groups, supported by experienced domestic abuse and parenting support workers, where single parents share solutions, challenges, joys and fears.

Financial Help and Guidance 


Child Support Agency Part of the Department for Work and Pensions, responsible for making sure that parents who live apart from their children contribute financially by paying child maintenance. 


Child Maintenance Options A free and impartial service that provides information, tools and support to help separating and separated parents make informed choices about child maintenance arrangements. 


Child Maintenance Options Calculator An online calculator based on the same rules that the Child Maintenance Service uses to work out child maintenance that can give you an idea of the amount that you could expect to pay or receive
